Lonely Monsters Book One was also going to be put up at Cafepress, but there's no way of packaging the CD and Book together, plus the quality of the printing/binding isn't as strong as the copies I've been getting done locally. I am still working on a book collecting older comics and sketches which will go up on Cafepress once it's done.

Get Your Ghoul On!!

Here's a little pic I did for no real reason (been awhile since that happened).

Just got back from the printers with the first run of Lonely Monsters Book One, feels very good to see all those boxes packed full of my first GN. Finishing up a few prints for the show this coming friday. Unfortunately the weather is looking a bit rough, but the show must go on and we have back-up plans.

So don't forget, this Friday 7th November starting at 7pm LONELY MONSTERS Exhibition and Launch, all happening at 696, located at 696 Sydney Road, Brunswick, Victoria, Australia. It's a Yard Exhibition so be sure to walk down the alley and swing left.

Upcoming Book Launch/Exhibition

This is a one night only show and I'll have some limited prints plus a few original pieces for sale (will post a couple of snapshots of them later).

Lonely Monsters is 1 week from completion and I've already started scripting book two which is turning out to be quite odd. Book one is basically my love letter/tribute to the zombie genre. For book two the focus shifts to old apolyptic road warrior type films/comics/etc. For book one I remained quite restrained in keeping the zombies looking more human than ghoulish, so I'm taking this opportunity to go wild in designing various mutants and steampunk-ish machinery.

But that book won't be out til 2009 so come along in November 2008 for the launch of book one (which, if things go according to plan, will come with a CD soundtrack and a couple of other goodies).

Lonely Monsters will be launching at gallery 696 on Friday 7th November 7pm - 9pm.

I'll post some promo images up on the blog soon, along with additional information about the packaging of Lonely Monsters itself.

Until then here's one of the many failed attempts at the cover for Lonely Monsters (I could probably release a completely separate book collecting the various attempts at the cover).

Book Launch

100th Post!! Cover (work in progress)

I think I've now done about 20 versions of the cover for LONELY MONSTERS but this is my favourite so far, and with a little more tweaking will be the published cover. LONELY MONSTERS will launch in November and be available at Gallery 696 (696 Sydney Road, Brunswick, VIC, 3056) and Cafepress.

The Cafepress copies will be done in the usual Cafepress way.

The 696 copies are being printed locally in partnership with 696 and will come packaged with a CD Soundtrack (contributions TBA as I don't want to jinx it). There will also be a 1 night yard show on November 7th to launch the book, with some limited edition prints and t-shirts available on the night (plus some real zombies stumbling around making people feel uncomfortable).

Daily Pic and big update on various projects

It's been awhile since I wrote anything to go along with the daily images, a mixture of being busy and being knocked around with the flu. Thankfully the flu is subsiding (although at this stage my voice is still a gravelly rumble.....which is kinda cool and I'll be sad to see that go).

Here are a few things coming up....

1. Likher Portraits - Group exhibition at 696 on Sydney Road. I've got a watercolour piece in the exhibition and have also helped Pav design a new piece for the wall in the alley next to the gallery.

2. I've had one of my favourite bands in the world agree to provide music for a Lonely Monsters soundtrack to be released with the first graphic novel. I won't name names just yet as this means the world to me and I'd hate to jinx it.

3. Just locked in a 1-night Yard Show in November with gallery 696 which will be used as the official launch of Lonely Monsters - Book One. More details to come.

4. Working on the next stage of designs for the SRBA Film Competition and also on an application to be part of the "I Art Sydney Road" event (which I also designed all the promo material for).

5. Still hard at work on the Unfortunate Boy print series which will be available soon. Until then 696 have a few t-shirts featuring the poor little bastard.

6. Speaking of bastards, I'm still doing my weekly "Savage Bastard" webcome over at www.savagebastard.blogspot.com

7. Still playing with toy robots and drawing zombies.
